The Experience

Building off ChatJUNETEENTH, the in-person experience at the BarkleyOKRP office brought history to life in a way that felt personal. Employees got to walk through an exhibit filled with powerful photos from the Juneteenth era, paired with historical facts and stories that connected the dots between then and now. It wasn’t just about looking at pictures—it was about feeling the weight of freedom and resilience in real time. The experience sparked real conversations, giving everyone a chance to reflect and dig deeper into the true meaning of Juneteenth.

“Juneteenth was a promise that was broken. Reconstruction failed and this country has continued to wage war on the Black body. Juneteenth also embodies the resilience of Black people. Even in the face of a broken system, we choose to find joy in resistance and celebrate in community.” – Obrian Rosario
